The next item that I was determined to tick off the list of to-do was our Catering. We went to a friend's wedding a couple of years ago and they had a BBQ for the evening guests, we both loved the idea of having an informal BBQ for our 'Wedding Breakfast,' followed by a Hog Roast for the evening guests (all this is despite the fact that I don't actually eat pig meat - it's my wedding gift to Matt!) Kinkell Byre are incredibly organised and actually provide you with a list of potential vendors.
After perusing a few of the websites suggested we decided to meet with St Andrews Event Catering, St Andrews. Diane, who works at St Andrews Event Catering, was quick to reply to my enquiry and we made a date to meet.
I met Diane at the local theatre in St Andrews and straight away felt at ease with her. This is definitely something which I feel is really important, you absolutely have to feel comfortable with all of your wedding suppliers. It'll take any stress you may have about your day away if you know that you are in capable hands and I definitely felt that way meeting Diane. She basically said we could have whatever we want. This was pretty exciting to us both as I had a very long and hungry look at their awesome food gallery. You have to take a look at this just for funsies. It'll make you want to go out and eat or cook - trust me! :-)
As we chatted it turned out that Diane used to work as a Classroom Assistant before working at St Andrews Event Catering, so we had a lot to talk about ( I teach Primary School). There was a good bit of shop talk that I won't bore you with but a good chinwag was had.
Within a couple of days of meeting Diane had sent me a list of everything we had talked about and with her kind and organised nature I was certain that St Andrews Event Catering were the company for us. Since that day Diane has been on hand to answer any and every one of my random questions. I feel totally at ease now, knowing that the company will be there on the day to help with the running of the day.
Till next time,
